Prepare your fork and loosen your belt buckle: it’s almost time for the 3rd Annual Colorado Springs Community Dinner.
The event will be held on September 15 at the Hillside Gardens, located at 1006 South Institute Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The dinner is set to take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Community Dinner is a community potluck unlike any other. The idea is to purchase all local ingredients (or bring those grown in your own backyard) to make just about any kind of dish you like. Tickets to the event are free, but donations are always welcome.
Dinner at the Hillside Garden’s pavilion will include decorated tables with linens and flowers. There will be live entertainment, including music, artists, and activities for children.
Local restaurants and chefs are encouraged to participate by bringing food or doing live demonstrations during the dinner.
The Colorado Springs Community Dinner will kick off Local Food Week, which runs September 14-22. During this week, there will be a variety of events, including food preservation classes, a tour of urban homesteads, and the Pikes Peak Urban Gardens Garlic Festival.
All proceeds from this event will go to the Colorado Springs Community Alliance, a local non-profit organization. The Colorado Springs Community Alliance provides residents of Colorado Springs with opportunities to get to know each other, support locally owned businesses, help other non-profit organizations, and organize community projects. The overall mission of the Colorado Springs Community Alliance is to elevate life in the city.
I highly recommend attending the event to support local businesses, farms, and food producers in Colorado Springs. The event also provides a great opportunity to network in the community, make new friends, and bond with your neighbors over a dish of our area’s finest delicacies.
From all of us at Sears & Associates, P.C., we hope to see you at the Colorado Springs Community Dinner on September 15!
