From KVUE: “American Airlines’ pilots filed a lawsuit on [February 28th] to keep the bankrupt Fort Worth carrier from changing terms of employment for its members.
The Allied Pilots Association claims the airline can’t impose new labor terms because its contract with pilots expired before the company filed for Chapter 11.
The APA’s lawsuit seeks to get the National Mediation Board involved to reach new terms on a new contract. If that doesn’t work, the APA suit says there are two other legal methods: Binding arbitration and an emergency panel created by the President of the United States.”
