Video: Reality of Texting and Driving

March 27, 2014 by Lance M. Sears

Texting and Driving | Colorado Springs, CO | Sears & Associates, P.C.

Texting and driving takes lives. This is the sad reality we must live with, and, as technology increases, more distractions from our mobile phone will take our eyes off the road every day.

As Colorado Springs, Colorado auto accident injury and wrongful death attorneys, we see firsthand the extreme ramifications of texting and driving. In many of these cases, the loved ones left behind by the victims continually ask themselves: was it worth it? Why did the text need to be sent/read at that moment? Could the message have waited?

I recently came upon a video that highlights the danger and disaster caused by texting and driving. Boldly, AT&T, a mobile carrier, sponsored the PSA. It is perhaps the most graphic look at what can—and, unfortunately, does—happen when motorists text and drive.

As you can see, the hurt felt by all those touched by the accident—even the first responders—is extreme.

As a car accident injury attorney, I strongly encourage you to share this video with family, friends, coworkers, and anyone you care deeply about. The dangers of texting behind the wheel are real; a single “LOL” could be the last communication you make with those you love. In addition, texting not only puts you and everyone in your car at risk, but also could hurt or kill drivers and pedestrians on the roadway around you.

If you have questions about texting and driving and the often-devastating results, contact an experienced auto accident injury attorney today. Also, if you are interested in fighting the problem, please donate to The Casey Feldman Memorial Foundation.

Again, please share this video with those you care about, and discuss the seriousness of distracted driving. A simple conversation could save them from severe hurt as a result of texting.
